4 Days 3 night 4WD

 tour to

 Orang Asli Settlement

  1st – 4th Oct. 08

Exciting day for

my 1st 4WD off road adventure

We gather and depart from KL to Northern Perak at 6am.

This is my first trip for 4WD off road adventure. The journey to the place near the Temengor is awesome, I am eager to travel there. For this trip we have 10 members to join (4 ladies and 6 guys).

We were driving 4WD car to get in the place. Along the way, we see a lot of trees, mountains and a nice scenery up there. When we reach Kg Lasah, We start our 4WD adventure, experience off road sector obstacle, the experience of river crossing with 4WD,passing narrow tracks, the journey is very exciting to me, sitting inside the car like sitting on the OSIM’s chair, we will experience the twisting, shaking, rocking  all the way. It was not easy to get there, we have to monitor the car while crossing the bridge and so on. We have shot a lot of photos as a proof. Thank god we managed to reach there without fail. It was a AMAZING trip for me.

The journey to our destination take approx 4 hours so we have our lunch.

 De-tour to another settlement

After a night stay,  we check out from the hotel in the morning and we have the breakfast and some marketing at a small village near Chemor. The fruits and vegetables are so fresh and cheap, we bought some for our camping use. We also packed our lunch there. The foods there are so basic and delicious.

After finish our breakfast and marketing, we start our journey again from Simpang Pulai to another settlement at Gua Musang.

The whole journey to Gua Musang is awesome too to me, we see a lot of limestone cave along the road and the scenery is great.

We reach the entrance to the settlement called Post Simpo and we start our 4WD off road Adventure again.

I am very fortunate enough to experience two difference 4WD adventure for my very 1st trip at two different location.  The experience I got really unexplainable, everything so nice here, the river is clean, the cool water, the surrounding high slope terrains and the cool wind, really to say, mother nature always at it best. I have fun while traveling there and our members sharing their experience on their last trip to there. For myself I also experience the off road sector obstacles, the bumpy tracks, river crossing. We also experience a very large tree blocking the road which strike down by the lighting. Lucky enough, somebody has use the chainsaw to cut it but I think  they purposely cut it at a narrow gap that the car have to do a multi point turn on to pass the very narrow track.

After a few hours drive and the experience on the “original OSIM chair” rocking and twisting all the way, we finally reach the Orang Asli Settlement.

This is my first time to visit to the Original Orang Asli Village. There are many beautiful Chalet hand built and knitted into perfection by Orang Asli. The people are happy when they knew we are coming. The children are running  to us ,waving and smiling like meeting the VIPs. I feel great and happy  when I see them , their life is so simple and they only ask for little and are contented with living at the fringes of the jungle and unexplainable.

There is a vacant Chalet nearby the Penghulu house that I was told is their resort when every time they visit the settlements. The moment we arrived, We pay a visit and respect to the Penghulu and then we unload all our things in the cars to the chalet.

I am very impress that all the team member they are so nice and helping each other in sorting out the things they brought throughout the stay and within half an hour the tent is set up for the outdoor cooking and gathering. We cook and eat together at a different environment which I never experience before.

Night is another different experience which I had enjoyed, the fireflies, sound of the jungle, with clear sky of thousand stars, it simply amazing, true to say, even million dollars cannot buy this kind of experience. I would like to thank  all the members which I knew them in this trip for such experience one of unforgettable memories.

Unforgettable and full of memory

The morning breeze is amazing, I enjoy the morning walk and the weather there is cool.

It might not be a 5 star resort theme park, but this is the place for people who want to rough it out straight into Nature frontier in Malaysia with your days and night filled with relaxation. Its truly a balance of extreme adventure and ANTI STRESS GETAWAY.

All our members are charitable and they like to do community service. We collected a lot of used clothing, toys and bags for the children. I am very grateful that I can be a part of them to serve the needy. We are very happy to see the children enjoy receiving the clothing and foods given by us.

 Pos Simpo Charity Project

We are from BP guild which is a guild formed by mostly ex-scouts and involve mostly on social and charity works, and this year we would like to help a village near Guo Musang.  This village is about 50km from the nearest tar road and inhabitant about 230 people.  We use to visit them yearly and help them with some used clothing, provide free medical service, some repair work like pipe-in water and provide seeds for them to plant.  However, due to the distance from the main road, they need a four wheel truck like Hilux to transport the produced from the land to send out to town for exchange of money and at some time serve as ambulance to the villagers.  We feel that is necessary and willing to help them to buy one used unit truck to be sent to them.  The estimated cost is about RM60,000.00 including repair initial, fuel and service spares like oil / filter.  The guild had the initial charity fund of RM2,000.00 which will be contributed as a start.

We hope you can also help us achieve toward this target by contributing and we shall provide a clear account of the amount spent.  The guild account which you can send CIMB A/C – Persaudaraan Pengakap BP (Ibu Pejabat) A/C no. 1417001350105B and lastly thank you for your generous contribution.
